LETHBRIDGE, AB – Two people have been charged following an alleged assault in north Lethbridge in early June.

The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) said that on June 2, 2023, officers responded to a report of an injured male who had been assaulted. Police said the victim entered a northside business to seek help.

The police investigation determined that the 38-year-old victim had ridden his e-bike to Legacy Park. There, police said he was confronted by an unknown group of males, was assaulted, and had his e-bike and other property stolen.

The LPS subsequently arrested an 18-year-old man in the park. A 16-year-old male, who reportedly fled from police on the e-bike, was later arrested at his home.

The e-bike, along with other property, was recovered.

Caden Steven Courterelle, 18, of Lethbridge, is charged with one count of assault. He was released from custody and is scheduled to be in court on July 18, 2023.

Meanwhile, a 16-year-old male from Lethbridge, who cannot be identified, has been charged with assault, and two counts of possession of stolen property. He was released from custody and is set to be in court July 26.
