City of Lethbridge advises of road work this week
LETHBRIDGE, AB – The City of Lethbridge is advising motorists of some minor delays this week.
Beginning Wednesday, June 21, 2023 until Thursday, June 22, there will be a partial road closure for overlay paving for the eastbound lanes of 5 Avenue North, from 29 Street to 31 Street. Two-way traffic will be maintained and crews will have detour signs posted.
Starting on Thursday, June 22, Volker Stevin will begin barrier repair under the University Drive/Whoop-Up Drive bridge. This will impact the westbound lanes of Whoop-Up Drive, with speed limits reduced to 60 km/h while workers are on site. Signage will be removed when workers are not present. Motorists are advised to expect some minor delays. This work, which is an update to the 2022 Bridge Rehabilitation project, is expected to last about four days, weather and site conditions permitting.
Lastly, on Friday, June 23, there will be a partial road closure for overlay paving for the westbound lanes of 5 Avenue North from 41 Street to 39 Street. Two-way traffic will be maintained and detour signs will be installed. Minor delays are anticipated.
