Raymond man charged after Lethbridge Police seize over $15,000 in drugs

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has laid charges against a 33-year-old man after a short investigation into suspected drug trafficking activity.

On Wednesday, June 21, 2023, the Property Crimes Unit and Crime Suppression Team conducted a targeted vehicle stop in a west Lethbridge parking lot.

According to the LPS, officers seized 32 grams of fentanyl, 105 grams of cocaine and 48 grams of methamphetamine with a combined street value of approximately $15,600 from the vehicle.

Additionally, police reported seizing $15,390 in cash proceeds of crime.

Subsequently, a male and female suspect were taken into custody, but the female was later released without charges.

Andrew Glenn Whiteford of Raymond has been charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.

Whiteford was released from custody following a Judicial Interim Release hearing and is set to appear in court on July 20, 2023.
