CALGARY, AB – How many pancakes is too many pancakes? That is what the organizers of the Calgary Stampede wanted to find out.

Officials with the festival say they set a new Guinness World Record on Sunday, July 9, 2023, for the most pancakes served in eight hours.

Before the clock struck noon, volunteers handed out a total of 17,182 pancakes.

Guinness World Record judge Brittany Dunn was in attendance to verify the record.

She disqualified 15 pancakes from the grand total, but still certified the new world record.

It beat the previous record by more than 2,900 in around four hours.
