Milk River Health Centre Emergency Department set to temporarily close

MILK RIVER, AB – The Emergency Department (ED) at the Milk River Health Centre is set to temporarily close tomorrow. The ED will be closed temporarily starting at 8 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023.
It will reopen at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 21 to provide 24-hour service. Alberta Health Services (AHS) said the temporary closure is due to a lack of physician coverage.
During the closure, nursing staff will stay on site to provide care for long-term care residents.
Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency. EMS calls will be re-routed to the Raymond Health Centre, which is about 60 kilometres away, or the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, roughly 87 kilometres away.
