LETHBRIDGE, AB – Whoop-Up Days is bringing a wrestling competition back for 2023.

Pure Power Wrestling (PPW) is coming to Whoop-Up Days with the Hot Summer Night event at the Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre on Friday, Aug. 25.

The event card will be headlined by a PPW Heavyweight Title defense. Reigning champion “Cougar Meat” Kyle Sebastian defends his title against “Mr. Beefy Goodness” Vance Nevada, who is winding down his 30-year career.

Mike Warkentin, Lethbridge & District Exhibition CEO, said, “We want to make sure Whoop-Up Days has something for everyone, and with the history our organization has with pro wrestling, this is a natural fit. I’m going to tell our staff to hide our new chairs, tables, and ladders, but you never know what’s going to happen once the PPW athletes hit the ring!”

Pure Power Wrestling is a locally run wrestling organization based in Lethbridge that holds events across Southern Alberta and Southeastern B.C.

Jim Kristensen, Partner with PPW said, “Bringing PPW to Whoop-Up Days is something that we’ve all wanted to do for a long time. PPW has spent over 12 years bringing old school professional wrestling action to fans throughout Western Canada, and now we’re excited to bring the action to Southern Alberta’s biggest summer celebration!”

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the bell time at 7 p.m.
