Two people face charges following Blood Tribe Police traffic stop

STANDOFF, AB – A traffic stop and subsequent search by the Blood Tribe Police Service led to the arrest of four individuals in southern Alberta.

On Friday, July 14, 2023, police conducted a traffic stop in Standoff. Officials note that 60 grams of suspected fentanyl were located, with an approximate street value of $24,000. Police said that 10 grams of suspected crack cocaine, one loaded shotgun, one replica handgun, ammunition, multiple edged weapons, and $2,150 in Canadian currency, was located as well.

Kristian Charles Fox, 27, of the Blood Tribe, is charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking crack cocaine
  • Possession of property/proceeds obtained by crime
  • Resisting arrest

Police add Fox also face “multiple firearm and weapon-related offences”. Officials said he was on a previous release and was subsequently charged with breaching the conditions of that release order. Fox is also charged with forcible confinement, aggravated assault, uttering threats, and assault with a weapon in relation to an ongoing investigation by Blood Tribe Police.

David Shaneil Crow Chief, 25, of the Blood Tribe, is charged with forcible confinement, aggravated assault, failing to comply with a probation order, and assault with a weapon, in relation to the same ongoing investigation.

Both Fox and Crow Chief were both remanded into custody and are set to appear in Cardston Provincial Court on July 24, 2023.

Police said the other two individuals arrested along Crow Chief and Fox were released without charges.
