Brocket resident charged with drug offences

COCHRANE, AB – Two people have been charged by Cochrane RCMP following a traffic stop.

On July 6, 2023, at around 9:30 p.m., the RCMP said members of the Stoney Nakoda detachment were patrolling and observing a vehicle without a license plate in the Morley area.

When police stopped the vehicle, one passenger was found to have outstanding warrants and was arrested. Another occupant was also arrested.

Police said a search resulted in the seizure of items such as $2,000 in Canadian currency, 25 grams of fentanyl, scales, multiple cell phones, and other drug paraphernalia.

Dennis Lyndon Wildman, 44, a resident of Stoney Nakoda First Nation, has been charged with:

  • Two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon
  • Two counts of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose

Jacie Kara Fox, 38, of Brocket, has been charged with:

  • Two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking

Wildman was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Cochrane’s Alberta Court of Justice on August 1, 2023. Meanwhile, Fox was released and is set to be in Cochrane court on August 1.
