Alberta takes home 26 gold medals in North American Indigenous Games

HALIFAX, NS – The 2023 North American Indigenous Games concluded on Sunday, July 23, 2023.

Alberta finished in fourth place on the medal table, winning 81 total medals over the course of the July 15 to 23 competition.

Alberta’s medal count includes 26 gold medals, 27 silver and 28 bronze. The 26 gold medals span across seven different sports:

  • Athletics
  • Swimming
  • Wrestling
  • Archery
  • Basketball
  • Soccer
  • Volleyball

Saskatchewan finished the games with 175 total medals, putting them at the top of the medal table. British Columbia and Ontario rounded out the podium with 161 and 127 medals, respectively.
