Lethbridge County wins international budget award

LETHBRIDGE COUNTY, AB – Lethbridge County has received recognition for its budget.

The county’s 2023 Budget document has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).

Criteria are based on nationally recognized guidelines, such as how well the document serves as a financial plan, operations guide, and communications device.

Lethbridge County Chief Administrative Officer Cole Beck said, “Municipal budgeting is a complex process that requires collaboration and cooperation from all departments.”

Beck added, “Each year, our administration team strives to publish an informative, accessible, and transparent budget document for our taxpayers and stakeholders. To receive this award is an organization-wide achievement we are immensely proud of.”

This is the 13^th straight year that Lethbridge County has been recognized with the award by the GFOA.

Manager of Finance and Administration Jennifer Place said, “This award is known as the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting. We are honoured that our dedication to publishing this document has been acknowledged by GFOA again this year.”
