LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge College Kodiaks have added an accomplished player to their men’s volleyball roster.

Peyton Folk, a graduate of Winston Knoll Collegiate High School in Regina, signed with the Kodiaks after his graduation from high school. Folk won back-to-back player of the year awards in Saskatchewan as an outside attacker.

Folk also played for several seasons with the Team Saskatchewan Volleyball Association, where he played as both an outside attacker and setter.

Kodiaks head coach Greg Gibos spoke highly of Folk for his maturity, leadership and skills.

He said, “Peyton was arguably one of the best leaders and teammates I had seen in several years. Watching the way he willed his teammates to victory and motivated them to be their best was what really interested us.”

Folk will attend Lethbridge College’s Business Administration program, and he said he is looking forward to joining the school and the community as a whole.

Folk added, “Knowing I’m going somewhere that I believe I can grow and have an impact in the community is something that is really enticing about Lethbridge College. Kodiaks Country is strong, and I can’t wait to play in front of this community.”

The Kodiaks are looking to build off last season that saw them finish with a 15-4 record, good for second place in the South Division. Their first home game of the season is set for 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, in the Val Matteotti Gymnasium.
