LETHBRIDGE, AB – A new name has been added to the Lethbridge College Kodiaks men’s volleyball roster ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Nate Callihoo of Barrhead will suit up for the Kodiaks next season. The setter recently played with Team Alberta at the North American Indigenous Games in Halifax, helping the squad bring home gold.

Callihoo’s high school career included successes like winning the 3A provincial championship. He also had a productive U18 club season with the Nooks Volleyball Club.

Kodiaks head coach Greg Gibos said, “He’s been a proven winner across all of his competition, and we know he’s going to take this intensity to practice every day.”

Callihoo will join fellow Barrhead athlete Nolan Moes on the Kodiaks roster.

He credits his coaches for laying the groundwork of his success.

Callihoo stated, “I’ve really been blessed to have some amazing coaches over my career, and I know they’ve laid the foundation for me becoming a successful post-secondary athlete.”

Callihoo plans to start in the Agriculture Sciences diploma program at Lethbridge College.

“Lethbridge for me has always felt like a family,” he said.

“We’ve had a lot of athletes from Barrhead join the Kodiaks, and they always mention how awesome the culture is here. There’s certainly a history of excellence, and this is what makes me want to win a championship with this program.”
