City of Lethbridge recruiting for boards, commissions and committees

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Anyone who is interested in advising City of Lethbridge policies can apply to become part of a board, commission or committee.

The city has launched a new recruitment campaign and applications for a variety of positions are open until September 22, 2023.

Legislative Services Manager Ryan Westerson said he is hoping to see several highly-skilled and enthusiastic members come on board.

“We are really trying to ramp up our recruiting efforts this year and believe that our residents will find being on a Board, Commission or Committee to be a worthwhile and productive experience,” said Westerson.

For 2023, the city is looking for new members to join the Animal Welfare Committee, Assessment Review Board, Combative Sports Commission, Heart of Our City Committee, Historic Places Advisory Committee, Lethbridge Library Board, Sir Alexander Galt Museum and Archives Board of Directors, and the Youth Advisory Council.

Mayor Blaine Hyggen said an important way in which residents can provide their voice in city council decisions is to become part of the boards, commissions and committees.

“Sitting on one of the City’s Boards, Commissions and Committees is an exceptional way to contribute to our community. Your voice, your opinions, your hopes and goals for our city are important and this is a great way for people to become involved,” said Hyggen. “Please check out the various opportunities and apply.”
