
LPS installs new software to investigate cryptocurrency crimes
LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) said it is now properly equipped to investigate crimes involving cryptocurrency.
The service is utilizing Chainalysis Reactor, a program that traces cryptocurrency from its point of origin until it is deposited in an exchange.
As well, Sgt. Kevin Talbot with the LPS Economic Crimes Unit has been certified as a blockchain analysis investigator and will use Chainalysis Reactor for investigations.
He said there is a great need for training and services like this.
