RCMP charge Lethbridge man following mischief incident in Coaldale

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A Lethbridge man has been charged after RCMP responded to reports of mischief in Coaldale.

RCMP said on July 22, 2023, an intoxicated male was walking in downtown Coaldale, when he allegedly broke numerous windows of the new Town Hall, totaling over $5,000 in damage.

Following an investigation by RCMP, the supect was identified as Lethbridge resident Derek Yanciw.

Yanciw, 35, has been charged with one count of Mischief over $5,000 and is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Lethbridge on Sept. 6, 2023.
