Hurricanes acquire forward Kooper Gizowski, draft pick from Chiefs

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes have bolstered their forward core in a trade with the Spokane Chiefs.

The Hurricanes have acquired 2005- born forward Kooper Gizowski and a seventh round draft pick in the 2026 Western Hockey League (WHL) Prospects Draft, in exchange for Lethbridge’s fourth round pick in 2026.

Gizowski, a native of Edmonton, was selected by the Chiefs with the 40th overall pick in the 2020 WHL Draft. The 5’9, 170 pound forward scored 11 goals and added 15 assists for 26 points in 65 regular season games this past season.

In two seasons with the Chiefs, Gizowski totaled 34 points in 112 regular season contests.

The Hurricanes begin their training camp on Thursday, August 31, 2023, before opening the pre-season on Tuesday, September 5.
