LETHBRIDGE, AB – It’s a busy weekend for events in Lethbridge, and Lethbridge News Now has you covered with all the details.

Lethbridge Ribfest – August 18-20, 2023

The Rotary Club of Lethbridge Ribfest is back this weekend. The event takes place from Friday until Sunday at the ENMAX Centre parking lot. Ribfest kicks off at 12 p.m. on Friday and runs until 8 p.m. on Sunday, with free parking available at the ENMAX Centre. There will also be beer gardens and a 50/50 draw. Food Truck Fridays – August 11, 2023

Those looking to check out some different food trucks can head over to the parking lot area at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden for Food Truck Fridays on August 11. On Fridays until September 29, various food trucks will be set up, including Santeria Taco Truck, Vesano Pizza, Piggyback Poutinerie, Macs & Custard, and many others. Wonderstruck – August 9 to 26, 2023

New West Theatre kicked off its 2023-24 season on August 9, 2023, with the musical comedy ‘Wonderstruck’ at the Yates Memorial Theatre. The theatre company describes the show as having a mix of classic and contemporary rock ‘n’ roll hits to go along with sketch comedy. Tickets can be purchased here.

Glen Keeley Memorial Bull Riding – August 19, 2023

Glen Keeley Memorial Bull Riding returns on Saturday, August 19 at the Stavely Outdoor Arena. The event is in memory of Glen Keeley, a bull riding champion who died while competing in Mexico in 2000. Gates open at 4 p.m., and the bull riding begins at 6 p.m. It will be followed by a dance for all ages. Tickets can be purchased here.

Shoes for Kids YQL – August 19, 2023

The Shoes for Kids YQL shoe drive is set for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Dunlop Ford in Lethbridge. The event aims to collect 350 pairs of new shoes and raise $20,000 to help purchase running shoes for children and youth in Lethbridge and the Kainai Nation and Piikani Nation.

The initiative is spearheaded by Shoes for Kids YQL with assistance from RBC, the Lethbridge Police Service, Blood Tribe Police and the Piikani Nation RCMP.

Lethbridge Farmers’ Market – August 19, 2023

The Lethbridge Farmers’ Market runs every Saturday until October 14, 2023 at Lethbridge & District Exhibition. Shop local vendors and stock up on produce, baked goods and other fun items. The Saturday market is from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., with free parking and admission.

Southern Alberta Chinese Association BBQ – August 19, 2023

The Southern Alberta Chinese Association is hosting an event at the Rotary Pinic Shelter from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday. A traditional Chinese lion dance will kick off the barbecue, and the event will also feature other traditional dances, musical performances, and locally made handicrafts.

August History and Beer Tour – August 19, 2023

The Downtown Lethbridge BRZ is hosting the August History and Beer Tour on Saturday. The tour begins at 1 p.m. at the Round Table Board Gamerie, and will take participants to different downtown restaurants while sampling beer and learning history of the city. Tickets can be purchased here.
