Mug shot of former U.S. president Donald Trump released

ATLANTA, GA – In what will likely become one of the most iconic images of the 21st Century, a mugshot of Donald Trump has been released.

It is the first time in U.S. history that such a photo has been taken of a current or former president.

Trump went down to Georgia on Thursday, August 24, 2023, and turned himself in to the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta.

He faces 13 separate charges including one for racketeering and several counts related to fraud and false statements.

The charges are in relation to Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of his 2020 presidential election loss.

The former president had his fingerprints taken, personal information noted, and was given the inmate number P01135809.

In his first tweet since January 8, 2021, Trump released his own mug shot photo.

He paid a $200,000 bond and was released from custody.
