Voyeurism charge laid against Lethbridge man

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has charged a man following an incident where a woman was allegedly followed while out for a run.

Police said that on August 27, 2023, at around 8 p.m., a 32-year-old woman was running along Mayor Magrath Drive South. When she turned east along 6 Avenue South, the LPS said she spotted a “distinctive white truck” driven by a man with dark-rimmed glasses following her.

Police said the vehicle pulled ahead of the woman and stopped. As she continued running, the same vehicle allegedly pulled in front of her and stopped again. The LPS noted that as the woman passed, the vehicle slowly drove by her and stopped a third time. It is alleged that the driver did this again a fourth time and continued to follow the woman as she turned down another street.

A news release from the LPS stated that when the woman encountered a group of people, the suspect vehicle left the area, and she was able to return home safely.

A photo of the vehicle was provided to the LPS, and the driver was later identified. At about 10:40 p.m., he was arrested without incident at his north Lethbridge home. Police said the victim and suspect are not known to one another, and the victim was “randomly targeted.”

Neil David Fox, 37, of Lethbridge, is charged with voyeurism, criminal harassment, and mischief. He was released from custody and is scheduled to be in court on October 18, 2023.

The suspect vehicle is described as a white Toyota Tundra truck with a web canopy on the box and an orange handprint decal on the top left side of the rear window.

Police believe the suspect and vehicle may have been involved in other incidents and there may be other victims. Individuals who believe they may have been victimized in similar situations are asked to call Cst. Mike Fielding at 403-330-5214 and reference file 23020438.

The LPS investigation is ongoing.
