Coaldale man charged in connection to stolen vehicle

COALDALE, AB – The RCMP has apprehended a man wanted in relation to a vehicle theft.

At approximately 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 25, 2023, Coaldale RCMP said a man driving a white Ford F-150 parked it in the parking lot of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Coaldale.

The truck had been previously reported stolen out of Barnwell.

The man walked to a nearby home that the RCMP said is well known to them.

A concerned resident reported the incident to police and provided a description of the suspect.

Ellis Stoke, 32, of Coaldale faces two counts of failure to comply with release order conditions and one count each of possession of stolen property under $5,000 and possession of a controlled substance.

Stoke was remanded into custody following a bail hearing.
