LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) is warning the public about a high-risk offender residing in the city.
Cory Raymond Cook, 23, was recently released from custody on a Peace Bond, in connection with a sexual assault involving a four-year-old girl. He is bound by conditions prohibiting him from having any contact with children known to be under the age of 16.
Cook is also prohibited from attending any public park, swimming area where children under 16 are likely to be present, daycare centre, playground or community centre.
Police said Cook has a history of offenses involving children, including a federal sentence for a conviction involving a vulnerable child. The LPS reported that he has been assessed as an above average risk to re-offend and is being monitored by the LPS High Risk Offenders Unit.
