STAVELY, AB – A group of people from across Canada are getting the chance to take part in a unique opportunity to advance their skills in the beef industry.

The Canadian Cattle Young Leaders (CYL) Program, a national youth initiative of the Canadian Cattle Association (CCA), has announced its finalists for the 2023/24 year.

The 16 finalists were chosen after taking part in roundtables where they were asked to share their thoughts on environmental sustainability, innovation and technology, succession planning, leadership, and more.

Each will now get to take part in a nine-month mentorship program with a hand-picked industry leader. They’ll also receive $2,000 to help with travel.

“We had a very impressive slate of applicants for this year’s program, which makes me optimistic for what the future holds for our industry,” said Nathan Phinney, CCA President.
