TABER, AB – The people of Taber have chosen their new town councillor.

The Town of Taber has released the unofficial results of the council by-election, which was held on Thursday, September 7, 2023.

Daniel Remfert is projected to have won with an estimated 241 votes, or just under 30 per cent.

A total of seven candidates were vying to fill the seat that was left vacant earlier this summer by Alf Rudd, who announced his retirement from council so that he could accept a new job with the Taber Police Service.

The results of the by-election are expected to be made official around noon on Friday, September 8, 2023. The winner is set to be sworn in to office on Monday, September 11.
