Four Lethbridge Hurricanes chosen for NHL rookie camps

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Four Lethbridge Hurricanes have been selected to attend National Hockey League (NHL) Rookie Camps.

The team announced on Monday, September 11, 2023 that Joe Arntsen, Chase Pauls, Harrison Meneghin and Noah Chadwick will attend the NHL camps.

Arntsen will attend the New York Rangers rookie camp after taking part in the Rangers Development Camp in the summer. The defenceman attended the Carolina Hurricanes rookie camp last season as well. In 202 regular season games with the Hurricanes, he has collected 82 points.

Pauls will be attending the rookie camp for the Los Angeles Kings. The Osler, Saskatchewan product has spent his whole junior career with the Hurricanes after going undrafted in the WHL Prospects Draft. The 6’5, 220 pound blueliner had seven goals and 20 points in 66 games last year, to go along with 65 penalty minutes.

Meneghin enters his second full season in Lethbridge, coming off a successful year where he put up a 2.83 goals against average and a .908 save percentage in 36 games. He will be participating in the Minnesota Wild camp.

Defenseman Noah Chadwick will join the Toronto Maple Leafs for their rookie camp. Chadwick was a second-round draft pick of the Hurricanes in the 2020 WHL Draft. After two seasons with Lethbridge, Chadwick was selected by the Maple Leafs in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft with their sixth-round pick.

The Hurricanes continue their preseason slate with a game in Calgary against the Hitmen on Thursday, September 14, 2023. They close out their preseason schedule on Saturday, September 16 with a home game against the Medicine Hat Tigers.
