LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes bounced back in the second half of the 2023 Western Hockey League (WHL) pre-season.

The Canes now prepare to enter the 2023-24 regular season with a 2-and-2 record.

Miguel Marques scored the game-winning goal in overtime and came out with a total of two goals and one assist. He was named the first star of the game.

Things were not looking as good for Lethbridge at the start of the pre-season, however, losing both of its opening contests to the Medicine Hat Tigers 7-3 and 5-4.

The Hurricanes rebounded in its third contest, defeating the Calgary Hitmen 3-2 this past Thursday.

Now, the Lethbridge Hurricanes get ready to hold their regular season home-opener on Friday, September 22, 2023, against the Swift Current Broncos. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. at the ENMAX Centre.

It is the beginning of a new era for the team as they will be joined by new head coach Bill Peters, who was most recently a coach for the NHL’s Calgary Flames.
