Town of Taber launches new waste collection app

TABER, AB – The Town of Taber has launched Recycle Coach, a new community waste collection app.

The app was developed based on insights provided in the 2023 Waste Collection System Survey, which collected feedback from residents about Taber’s collection process.

The Town said that by using the app, staff can anticipate better recycling and composting diversion, resulting in reduced waste contamination. The app comes as Taber’s three cart waste collection system reaches its seven-year anniversary.

Key features of the app include:

• A “what goes where” search tool
• Collection reminders and real-time updates
• A problem reporting tool
• A customized calendar
• Location of nearby facilities
• Weekly quizzes

Residents currently using the three cart system will have access to the custom calendars and notifications once they input their address. Those not on the system will still have access to other features on the app.
