New outdoor space in development at downtown Lethbridge library
LETHBRIDGE, AB – Development is underway on a new designated outdoor space at the library in downtown Lethbridge.
The Lethbridge Public Library said the space at its Main Branch will be a multi-purpose area for all ages with recreation elements. The space will also incorporate Indigenous knowledge.
The outdoor space will be adjacent to the parking lot/children’s entrance and will incorporate the existing Millennium Garden. Elements that will be featured in the space include:
- Seating
- Programming equipment that officials said will “inspire creativity, imagination, sensory, active and quiet play through music, art, building, adventure, nature and science-based activities”
- Garden containers with plants native to the area
- Tables for activities
- Locally-created art
- Informational panels
