LETHBRIDGE, AB – Residents of Lethbridge can do a new type of monster mash.

The City of Lethbridge will put on its monster-truck-trash-mash event on Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Waste & Recycling Centre.

“Residents are invited to join staff at the Waste & Recycling Centre to learn more about where their household waste goes with a day of free, family-friendly fun,” the City said in a media release.

While seated in a monster truck, participants can learn about where their recycling goes, how compost is made, and how the landfill works. Other activities include:

  • Children’s entertainment and activities with the Helen Schuler Nature Centre, Environment Lethbridge and the Water and Wastewater department
  • Mini “Big Truck Petting Zoo” featuring collections trucks and other equipment
  • Free BBQ lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. while supplies last
  • Tours of the Blue Sky Educational Centre
  • Halloween costumes encouraged

The City adds, “Access-A-Ride bus tours are also available for those less thrill-seeking residents from 11:15 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.”

Registration is required to secure a seat and the City said spots are limited. To register and for more information on the event, go to the Eventbrite page.
