Hurricanes fall 3-1 to Rebels

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes lost 3-1 to the Red Deer Rebels on Saturday, October 7, 2023.

Coming off a 4-0 win on home ice the night prior, the Hurricanes traveled up to Red Deer for a match against their divisional foe.

Lethbridge kicked off the scoring in the first period, with Brayden Edwards’ fourth goal of the season, and his second in as many games. Despite three power plays, one of them four minutes, the Hurricanes could not muster another goal in the first.

Just over four minutes into the second period, Rebels forward Ollie Josephson tied the game at one goal apiece. The Rebels struck again 1:49 later, with Talon Brigley scoring the eventual game winner.

Red Deer then finished off the Canes with a goal from Frantisek Formanek in the third period to bring the game to a 3-1 final score.

The Hurricanes will look to rebound on Sunday, October 8 when they travel up to Edmonton to face off against the Oil Kings. The two teams split a two-game set the previous weekend.
