
Over 2,000 traffic tickets issued in Alberta over long weekend
EDMONTON, AB – Over the Thanksgiving long weekend, the Alberta RCMP said it issued more than 2,000 tickets as part of the #OperationImpact2023 initiative.
This is an annual effort organized by the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police, which focuses on encouraging safety on Canadian roads.
The following tickets were issued;
- 55 tickets for distracted driving
- 40 tickets for seat belt infractions
- 15 tickets for liquor offenses
- 902 tickets for speeding.
