Multiple events planned for Waste Reduction Week in Lethbridge

Textile Tuesday on October 17 – Residents can take unwanted winter clothes to City Hall. All clothing will be donated to Streets Alive and the Blood Tribe Department of Health. Items needed include coats, gloves, toques, hand warmers, socks, and weather-appropriate shoes/boots.
E-Waste Wednesday, October 18 – Residents can drop off electronic waste at the ENMAX Centre’s east parking lot from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Stamp out single-use plastic on Thursday, October 19 – Follow the City’s Facebook page and explain how you reduce single-use plastics for a chance to win a reusable prize pack.
Food Waste Friday, October 20 – Clean out your fridge and pantry of expired items and put them in your green cart. Take the Food Waste Pledge and commit to making choices that will keep your food from becoming waste. Participants can pledge as an individual, school, business/organization, household, or community and learn how to reduce household food waste.

Waste Reduction Week is on from October 16 to 22.
