LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes have announced Brent Seabrook will be added to the team’s Wall of Honour.

Seabrook will be inducted in the player category after a memorable four-year tenure with the Hurricanes. From 2001 to 2005, Seabrook played in 265 games for the team, racked up 176 points, and was the team’s captain for three years.

During his time with the Canes, Seabrook also picked up the following accolades:

  • 2001-02 Hurricanes Rookie of the Year
  • 3x Hurricanes Defenceman of the Year (2002-03, 2003-04, 2004-05)
  • 2003-04 Hurricanes Fan Favourite Award
  • 2004-05 Hurricanes Most Valuable Player

Upon the news of his upcoming induction, Seabrook said, “It’s very special and it’s going to be really cool and exciting. Junior hockey is the best, it’s a lot of fun and I have a lot of great memories from my time in Lethbridge.”

Seabrook was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks with the 14th overall pick in the 2003 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

Following his days with Lethbridge, Seabrook went on to play 15 seasons in the NHL with the Blackhawks, appearing in 1,114 regular season games and collecting 464 points.

He was part of the Blackhawks run of success in the early 2010s, winning three Stanley Cups (2010, 2013, 2015), and tallying 59 points in 123 career playoff games, while often playing on the Blackhawks’ top defensive pairing with Duncan Keith.

In addition to his NHL success, Seabrook put together a highly accomplished international career.

Seabrook captured gold at the 2003 Hlinka-Gretzky Cup, represented Canada twice at the World Junior Hockey Championships winning a silver medal in 2004 and gold in 2005.

He also played in the 2010 Winter Olympics on the Canadian squad who took home gold on home soil.

Seabrook will officially be inducted into the Hurricanes Wall of Honour with a pre-game ceremony on Friday, January 26, 2024 when the Hurricanes welcome the Regina Pats. He will be the 11th player inducted.

Seabrook will also be the special guest for the Celebrity Dinner at the Sandman Signature Lethbridge Lodge the following night.
