LETHBRIDGE, AB – The City of Lethbridge is asking for public input regarding the future of the ENMAX Centre.

The City is working on a 20-year plan for the building, and is asking members of the community to give input on their experiences at the ENMAX Centre.

The arena, which was formerly known as the Canada Games Sportsplex, opened in September 1974 specifically to host the 1975 Canada Games. It became home to the Lethbridge Hurricanes in 1987 when Calgary Wranglers relocated to Lethbridge.

The arena has also played host to major shows, including a sold-out Elton John show in 2012, and comedian Jerry Seinfeld in 2011.

The building underwent a $33.7 million renovation, which finished in 2012 and expanded the facility by 41,000 square feet. The project added 18 luxury suites, improved the concessions and washrooms, and created a new press box and restaurant/lounge overlooking the ice.

Feedback collected from the survey will help to inform future uses and developments at the arena.

Anyone wanting to give input or speak to city staff and planners can do so at the in-person Community Conversation at the ENMAX Centre on Monday, October 23 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

In addition to the event, a survey can be found online here.
