LETHBRIDGE, AB – Local youth can channel their inner artist through an annual design contest.

Since 2021, Real Canadian Superstore has teamed with the Canadian Hockey League (CHL), the umbrella organization that represents the Western Hockey League (WHL), Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), for a jersey design competition.

The contest gives fans 16 years of age or younger the chance to create a unique jersey design, while raising money for PC Children’s Charity. Entrants can see their design worn by their team during a game.

For the 2023 campaign, 25 teams from the WHL and OHL are participating, including the Lethbridge Hurricanes. The contest winner will not only see their design worn on the ice but will receive a signed custom jersey and a VIP game night experience for them and their family. The remaining game-worn jerseys will be signed by players and auctioned off with proceeds going to help the PC Children’s Charity.

The contest is open until October 31, 2023. Fans can upload their design online.

To date, the competition has helped raise $375,779 in charitable funds. The 2022 contest helped collect over $206,000. Last year’s winning designs can be seen online.
