Fire ban lifted for Lethbridge’s river valley

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A fire ban issued in the Lethbridge river valley area has been lifted.

The ban was issued due to factors like high heat and low humidity on July 21, 2023.

Officials said on October 31, 2023, due to the change in weather conditions, the ban has been lifted, effective immediately. However, the City of Lethbridge said precaution should still be taken when individuals are having a fire outdoors. Tips include:

• Ensuring that clean, dry wood is used
• Making sure that the fire is completely extinguished before individuals leave the site
