LETHBRIDGE, AB – Remembrance Day will be recognized in Lethbridge on Saturday, November 11, 2023. Lethbridge News Now has details on that and more.

Remembrance Day Ceremonies – November 11, 2023

Two Remembrance Day ceremonies will be taking place in Lethbridge on Saturday. The 2023 Remembrance Day Parade and Service will be hosted by the General Stewart Branch #4 of the Royal Canadian Legion. It will take place at the Lethbridge & District Exhibition Agri-food Hub and Trade Centre.

A second ceremony is scheduled to start at 10:45 a.m. at the Cenotaph on Veterans Avenue (4 Avenue South) in front of the Yates Memorial Centre. This ceremony is set to feature a fly-by from a Harvard aircraft.

Japan Film Festival – November 10, 2023

Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden and the Consulate-General of Japan in Calgary have worked together to put on a Japan Film Festival on Friday. Two films will be shown, the first at 12:30 p.m. and the second at 3:00. Entry into the event is free.

Lethbridge Hurricanes vs. Wenatchee Wild – November 10, 2023

The Lethbridge Hurricanes look to snap their four-game home losing streak on Friday with a game against the Wenatchee Wild. The Hurricanes are coming off a 4-2 loss to Prince Albert on Wednesday. The game starts at 7:00 p.m.

The Secret Garden – November 10-12, 2023

The Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization (LSCO) is putting on a performance of The Secret Garden this weekend at Yates Memorial Theatre. The classic story is reimagined in musical style by composer Lucy Simon and Marsha Norman, the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of Night Mother. Funds raised will support local seniors programs at the LSCO, including Meals on Wheels.

BIPOC Foundation ‘For the Arts’ Festival – November 10, 2023

BIPOC Foundation’s ‘For the Arts’ Festival‘ is a family-friendly Arts & Culture experience that features the best in BIPOC talent and wares. The event runs from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 at the Sandman Signature Lethbridge Lodge on Friday.

From 5 to 11 p.m., BIPOC Foundation will also hold its first annual BIPOC Foundation Legacy Gala, also at the Sandman Signature Lethbridge Lodge. The gala will include the BIPOC Foundation Excellence Awards, which will celebrate 25 Black entrepreneurs and Black-led businesses.

Diwali Celebrations – November 11, 2023

The Gujarati Society of Lethbridge & Area will host Diwali celebrations for 2023 on Saturday. Diwali, known as the festival of lights, symbolizes victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil. Doors will open for the event at 5:30 p.m. and it will take place at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Forestry Avenue in Lethbridge.
