Coalhurst advises of road closure due to railway work

COALHURST, AB – Work on a southern Alberta railway crossing will result in a change of travel to and from Coalhurst on Thursday, November 16, 2023.

The Town of Coalhurst said Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) will be replacing the railway crossing surface at the west end of 51st Avenue – the entrance and exit to and from Highway 3.

The railway crossing will be closed between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., pending completion of the project.

Officials said there will be alternate accesses to Coalhurst still open, including:

• The Kipp overpass on Highway 3, then south on Range Road 224 (2nd Street)
• Highway 25, then east on Township Road 92 and north on Range Road 223 through to 45 Avenue or 55 Avenue
