RCMP respond to fatal collision near Bassano

BASSANO, AB – UPDATE (Nov 17, 2023): Bassano RCMP has confirmed that two people were killed in the collision.

The RCMP said it is investigating a fatal collision in southern Alberta.

At approximately 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, officers were called to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 1 and Range Road 191 in Newell County.

The collision occurred just west of Bassano.

As of 5:15 a.m. on November 15, Bassano RCMP said Highway 1 has fully reopened.

The RCMP said it will provide more information when it becomes available.
