LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Chinook Regional Hospital (CRH) Foundation’s 29th annual Christmas Tree Festival is in full swing at the ENMAX Centre.

The festival sees the facility turned into a winter wonderland full of beautifully decorated trees, which officials said plays host to around 4,000 attendees each year.

The event began on November 19, 2023, and runs until November 22.

Monday, November 20, and Tuesday, November 21 are free viewing days from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Monday evening is a family night from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Families can skate, do arts and crafts, and even get their faces painted for free. There will also be refreshments and cookies, with free parking.

Wednesday night will be the finale of the festival. It will be a gala in which all of the trees are auctioned off.

Last year, the event raised more than $170,000, with proceeds benefitting the CRH Foundation. Shonna Lamb, Development Officer, said, “The festival is a chance to uplift and light up our community, all while raising funds that support health care for us, our neighbours, and all of southern Alberta.”

She added, “Recently, we’ve invested in eight new chairs for the Jack Ady Cancer Centre, so chemo chairs. We’ve invested in some new stretchers, some projects within the emergency department. So, all the money that’s raised stays here in the community to benefit the hospital.”

Tickets are still available for Wednesday’s gala and can be purchased at the CRH Foundation website.
