Kitawna Sparks, Nolan Moes named Kodiaks athletes of the week

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge College Kodiaks have named their student-athletes of the week for November 13 to 19, 2023.

On the women’s side, second year basketball player Kitawna Sparks was given the honour. In the Kodiaks first game against the Lakeland College Rustlers on Friday, Sparks had 21 points and 10 rebounds despite her team’s 82-57 loss.

The next day, the Kodiaks retuned to the win column with a 82-40 victory over the Keyano College Huskies, and Sparks had another solid performance. Sparks had 15 points and another 10 rebounds to lead her team to a 6-1 record.

For the men’s team, Nolan Moes was the recipient. The power hitter accumulated 17 kills on Friday in the Kodiaks men’s volleyball team’s game against the Rustlers. He then followed it up with 16 more on Saturday against the Huskies.
