Tourism Lethbridge wins national award

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Tourism Lethbridge has won a significant award.

Earlier this month, the organization announced that it had been nominated for the 2023 Culinary Tourism Experience Award.

An awards event was held in Ottawa on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, with Tourism Lethbridge being named the winner of the award by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada.

The award celebrates the positive impacts organizations have made locally and nationally in the Canadian tourism industry.

Jarom Scott, Director of Brand Development at Tourism Lethbridge said, “Food is such an integral part of the visitor experience. Approximately one-third of a visitor’s spend is on food. As the Destination Management Organization in Lethbridge, we’re committed to cultivating rich relationships with those in the agri-food space and telling their stories to a broader audience.”

Scott added, “This award helps amplify our food message and highlight the work in this region regarding planting, producing, preparing, and presenting food. Our goal is that more Albertans, Canadians, and international travellers understand that Lethbridge is truly at the heart of Canada’s Premier Food Corridor and a destination offering a unique taste of place!”
