Improperly-installed fireplace caused west Lethbridge structure fire

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services (LFES) responded to a structure fire on the west side this past weekend.

At 4:23 p.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2023, crews from four stations were called to an area of Westside Drive.

After what LFES described as a “short intense attack,” members were able to knock the fire down and prevent it from spreading.

No injuries were reported.

According to LFES, the cause of the fire was an improperly-installed wood burning fireplace.
