LETHBRIDGE, AB – The University of Lethbridge (U of L) is running a campaign to support students during exam season.

The U of L is holding the Buy A Student A Breakfast (BASAB) campaign, beginning on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. The program has donors donate money to supply breakfast to students during exam times.

Representatives from the school said a pledge of just $6 buys a breakfast for a student.

Diana Letts, co-chair of the U of L’s Food for Thought program said, “It’s more than a breakfast coupon, it’s a way to show our students how much our community values them and is behind them as they pursue their academic goals.”

Letts added, “Many of our students are a long way from home and, during a stressful time of year, a reminder that there’s a community here supporting them is really meaningful.”

The campaign runs through the end of the week. Each $6 donation buys a coupon redeemable for one breakfast sandwich and one coffee or tea at the University’s Tim Hortons or Urban Café.

Coupons will then be distributed by volunteers including U of L alumni and the Food for Thought Committee throughout the first week of the final exam period, which runs from December 4 to 8.

Those looking to donate can do so at the University of Lethbridge website.
