Three Lethbridge residents charged in alleged drug trafficking operation

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has charged three individuals in connection to a dial-a-dope operation.

Two men and one woman were charged with drug trafficking offences.

Earlier this month, the Crime Suppression Team and Property Crimes Unit were investigating suspected trafficking activity.

On November 23, 2023, a search warrant was executed at two southside residences and on three vehicles. Police arrested a 41-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman in two separate traffic stops. The 34-year-old female was later released without charges.

A 35-year-old woman was arrested inside a southside home and a 37-year-old man was arrested in another southside residence.

Police said they seized two rifles and ammunition, approximately 219 grams of cocaine, 23 grams of methamphetamine, 138 tables of prescription narcotics, 28 grams of marijuana, 855 grams of buffing agent and more than $40,000 cash proceeds of crime. The combined value of the narcotics and buff is approximately $23,600.

Andrew Jonathan Bacon, 41, Lethbridge, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.

Melissa Bacon, 35, Lethbridge, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.

Jeffrey Neumann, 37, Lethbridge, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, careless use/storage of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

All three have been released from custody and are due in court January 19, 2024.
