LETHBRIDGE, AB – The first-ever Holiday Smile Cookie campaign was a success.

On the morning of Tuesday, December 5, 2023, Tim Hortons presented the Boulet family with a cheque for $43,178.87, the total amount raised from the November 13 to 19 campaign.

Half of the money raised will go to Green Shirt Day. From there, a quarter will be donated to the Canadian Transplant Association, while the other quarter will go to the Logan Boulet Endowment Fund.

The Boulets are thankful for the Lethbridge community’s support, which fueled the cookie sales. The branch on Scenic Drive South reported selling 16 more cookies than their previous highest total for a Smile Cookie week.

Toby Boulet talked about the impact of Green Shirt Day.

He said, “One lady told me she had a living kidney transplant, and she was told by the kidney foundation that they’ve almost doubled their kidney transplants because of Green Shirt Day. I knew of that number, but to have a person actually come up and tell me that makes me feel kind of special.”

The other half of the money raised will be donated to Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.

Rob Eatough, executive director of the Tim Hortons Foundation Camps said, “The funds for us are going to be critical to help welcome more kids into our program, broaden our reach and deepen our impact with those families.”

Nation-wide, the Holiday Smile Cookie campaign raised $9.8 million for different charities.
