LETHBRIDGE, AB – Environment Canada is cautioning the public against high winds.

The weather forecaster has issued a wind warning for several communities in southern Alberta.

They say strong wind gusts of up to 100 kilometres an hour began Monday night, December 4, 2023, and are expected to continue until Tuesday evening.

Some of the impacted communities include Lethbridge, Taber, Fort Macleod, Crowsnest Pass, Waterton Lakes National Park, Cardston, Warner, Milk River, Coutts, and Claresholm.

“Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. High winds may result in power outages and fallen tree branches,” reads an advisory from Environment Canada.

Drivers are asked to adjust their driving habits as needed.
