Police looking for man wanted in connection with stabbing

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Police in Lethbridge are asking for help to find a man wanted in connection with an incident in which someone was stabbed.

The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) said on December 5, 2023, at about 6:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of an assault after paramedics found a man in the 800 block of 5 Avenue South.

Police said the 38-year-old man had been stabbed. He was taken to hospital and later airlifted to Calgary. According to the LPS, the man is currently in stable condition.

A suspect was later identified.

The LPS said the victim and suspect are known to one another and had been involved in a verbal altercation prior to the alleged assault. Police said this was not a random incident.

Rodney Michael Black Plume, a 51-year-old Lethbridge resident, is charged with aaggravated assault, and possession of an offensive weapon dangerous to the public.
