Lethbridge County Council approves collaboration with City of Lethbridge and Lethbridge & District Exhibition

LETHBRIDGE COUNTY, AB – Lethbridge County Council has approved a collaboration with the City of Lethbridge and Lethbridge and District Exhibition (LDE).

The collaboration is pending a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to be signed between the City and LDE.

Council approved providing administrative support to a proposed interim governance board at LDE, dependent on the ratification of the MOU, which is scheduled for completion in January.

Chief Administrative Officer Cole Beck said, “The terms and conditions of the MOU will determine how we can best support the board positions and provide the appropriate expertise going forward.”

He added, “We are confident that our team can provide valuable insights and administrative assistance where necessary to help ensure the long-term success of the Agri-food Hub and Trade Centre.”

Council also determined that the County’s LDE board position should be vacated as the organizational transition unfolds. Representatives from the County said this was done to avoid any potential conflict of interest while they work as a strategic partner.

Participants on the proposed interim board would be selected once the MOU is finalized.
