LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes have acquired a third-round pick in the 2024 Western Hockey League (WHL) draft from the Prince George Cougars, in exchange for defenseman Chase Pauls.

Pauls signed with the Hurricanes in 2019. In 30 games this season, he has picked up nine points with a plus-8 rating.

General Manager Peter Anholt said, “Chase was a great Hurricane for a long time and was a key member of our leadership group over the last two years.”

He continued, “He exemplified hard work and persistence each and every day. We wish him all the best in Prince George and moving forward.”

Pauls played a total of 190 regular season games as a member of the Hurricanes. He totalled 55 points (18 goals, 37 assists) along with 128 penalty minutes and a plus-12 rating.

The Hurricanes now have two remaining overage players, captain Joe Arnsten and forward Blake Swetlikoff.
