Hurricanes’ Meneghin named WHL Goaltender of the Week

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Hurricanes goaltender Harrison Meneghin has been named the Western Hockey League Goalie of the Week.

Meneghin led the Hurricanes to back to back victories in the week ending on December 31, 2023.

In the first game against the Red Deer Rebels on December 29, Meneghin stopped 33 of 34 shots he faced in regulation to lead the Hurricanes to a 2-1 shootout victory.

The next day, on December 30, Meneghin continued his strong play in the Hurricanes’ 4-2 victory over the Medicine Hat Tigers. In the game he stopped 34 shots, including all 18 he faced in the second period to lead his team to the win over their rivals.

For the week, Meneghin put together a 1.44 goals against average (GAA) and a .957 save percentage. On the season so far, he has a 15-9-2 record with a 2.42 GAA and .922 save percentage while playing the third-most minutes in the WHL.

Meneghin will look to continue his strong play as Lethbridge starts a four-game homestand on January 3 against the Swift Current Broncos at the ENMAX Centre.
